Making child's right to treatment a fundamental right

According to seven child advocacy organizations, Sub-Saharan Africa is prepared to be death hub for the HIV-infected children under the age of 15. For them there is no way to get treatment and their deaths are almost certain. The Global Movement for Children has appealed to governments and health organizations to make child’s right to treatment fundamental.

The report of these seven organizations is very heartbreaking and painful. According to the data of this report, 700,000 children were infected with the HIV virus in 2005. It made the total to 2.3 million. Until now 570,000 died of AIDS, i.e. one every minute.

Not more than five percent of HIV-positive children may get the treatment in that region. The report further says to take major efforts for children and HIV-infected pregnant mothers.
