Diminishing stem cells division linked to memory loss in old age!

The question, why older people suffer from memory loss has been nailed down by a new study. Interestingly, this new study has shown that memory loss due to ageing occurs not because production of neutral stem cells comes down but because these stem cells divide less frequently. In order to prove this fact researchers conducted tests on young and old mice and found that number of stem cells didn’t diminished with ageing but the process of division of these neutral stem cells diminished as the brain turned older.

Don’t you think this study has tried to look at the whole concept of memory loss caused by aging, utterly in a new way? In fact, I believe that this discovery would definitely help our researchers to understand terrible diseases like Alzheimer, Huntington’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease, in a much better way, which are generally caused by ageing.
