And, this year too they are out with a prototype of their <a href=\"https:\/\/ecofriend.com\/entry\/lightweight-car-bodies-fuel-efficient-vehicles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aluminum <\/a>framed eco friendly future car.  This car has already been crowned the winner of the \u2018PDP Awards Andrea Pinninfarina\u2019 design competition, organized by Think3, and, also it managed to grab a place at the Tokyo Motor Show.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ecofriend.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/aluminum_framed_eco_friendly_future_ev_prototype_yriys.jpg\" alt=\"Aluminum-framed Eco-friendly Future EV Prototype\" title=\"Aluminum-framed Eco-friendly Future EV Prototype\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><!--Gallery:52300--><\/p>\n<p>The NATS team has worked tirelessly for many days at a stretch for developing the prototype of this compact two passenger <a href=\"https:\/\/ecofriend.com\/ev-mini-sport-electric-sports-car-japan.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">electric sports car<\/a>. Preparing the prototype of such cars from scratch can take a long time and requires huge amounts of money, therefore, to economize a bit, the student team fabricated the car based on the Honda Insight.<\/p>\n<p>CAD software was used for designing this vehicle and it was through a comprehensive power analysis that the team fabricated its aluminum frame. The use of <a href=\"https:\/\/ecofriend.com\/posco-developed-steel-reduce-weight-evs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">steel<\/a> is widely known to all, but for making an eco friendly vehicle and for allowing students to explore more challenges in such development projects, the use of aluminum was advocated. <\/p>\n<p>The maximum speed of the vehicle and its cruising capacity are not known as yet and soon driving tests will be conducted to further validate the vehicle\u2019s authenticity.
