Body modification is an accepted social practice among all the cultures, which generally includes piercing of nose and ears as well as an isolated piece of tattoo done here or there. Keeping aside some traditional communities, there are a few people among us who too who have done extreme body modification that we the rest of us see as taboo. Call it gross damage to body or a unique way for the expression of identity by them; we bring to you a list of a few of them-<\/p>\n

Some people were born with the soul of animals. But the spirit of which animal inhabits them, differs for each one of them. The top in the list are the members of feline family- cat, tiger, leopard and panther. These people are not however satisfied in feeling just so and have undergone massive body modification including, piercing, scarring, scalpelling of body flesh, skin implants, tattooing and even filleting of teeth to give a feline like look.<\/p>\n

They get the whole of the body modified right from head to feet to complete the look. Those possessed with serpents, apart from all these procedures, they get a slit on their tongue to give it the likeness of a snake.<\/p>\n

For all those tattoo aficionados, who have every part of their body pasted with tattoo, and are yet not done with it, then there is something different for them. Etching a thin dark line along the base of the eye lashes in between their rows, gives the eyes the advantage of permanent eyeliner marks on them. Then there is tattooing of your eyelids in different motifs. The extreme of it all involves injecting colors inside the Sclera of the eyes in order to change their colors.<\/p>\n

If Corset dressing is a thing of past, you might be forced to rethink. The old is born anew and in altogether different Avatar. The new trend involves making multiple piercing on the back on either side of the spinal cord vertically downwards.<\/p>\n

Rings are then set in and the two rings parallel to each other are laced together with ribbons. In fact, the laced decorations can be applied to any area of the body where the skin is loose enough to enable a series of rings pierced through; for example on back, on the under arm part of the torso and on neck.<\/p>\n

Also called sub-dermal implant, this involves certain materials like Silica (used to lift and increase the size of the breast by women) inside the skin in desirable shapes in order to give a 3D look to it. You will be surprised at the insanity of motifs made like human skull, ear, nose, horns, rings and many more. The side effects involve irritation on the skin.<\/p>\n

If the above body modifications are not painful, enough for you, then branding is you should try. This is something like that was done for branding of horses and the convicts in old days. A preheated iron pin or scalpel is applied to the skin on predetermined patterns. Resultantly the skin gets third degree burn. The procedure destroys all the nerves on the burnt area. As the surrounding skin heals, left behind is a clean design, etched onto the body.<\/p>\n

So forget about tattooing and normal body piercing (that sit like babies) before these marathons of body art. If these body arts do not impressed or you consider them gross, these are your perceptions, but for these lovers of body modification, they are the ultimate form of body decoration.<\/p>\n\n
