The race for the millionth English word is over. Web 2.0 has been announced by the Global Language Monitor as the Millionth English word or phrase.

The Global Language Monitor, an Austin, Texas-based global language tracker, uses a mathematical formula to track the frequency of words and scans millions of Web sites, including those of 5,000 major print and electronic media outlets, to monitor word usage.
