Recently, a Moscow based music download website, allofmp3.com, has decided to shift to advertiser supported business model when Visa International had stopped its credit card payments operation with the site. While breaking operations with the website in question, the credit card giant alleged that the website has violated piracy rules. However, allofmp3.com in the meanwhile shifted its business model and now onwards it will operate under ad-supported distribution of free content.
On the other side of the story, reacting to the allegation the website has clarified that its business is legal since it pays taxes on revenue in Russia and royalties to ROMS that operates on line store licenses in Russia. Whereas Visa International has said that the action has taken is compliant to the legislation passed in Russia together with international copyright and intellectual property norms.
