Unicef: Don’t let war destroy the universe of children

Unicef has recently launched this anti-war animated television advertisement in Belgium to gather support and building consensus against war. The advertisement clearly aims at emphasizing the aftermath of war and with specific effect on the future generations. The advertisement is showing children are living happily and involved in various merry making activities in a harmonious background and suddenly the area was bombed heavily to destroy everything and leaving victimized children on the mercy of fate. The advertisement has been placed strategically in a seemingly fairy-tale background in which children usually live and should live in their childhood.

The presentation of the campaign is certainly not that compelling but the idea or message of the ad is so strong that it makes the advertisement prominently significant. However, the advertisement was strategically aired after 7 PM so that children could not watch it. The punch-line of the campaign says, ‘Don’t let war destroy the universe of children’. The advertisement was developed by Publicis Belgium.
