Tips to encourage women in the role of a leader

Women still have challenges to make what men make for the same job. They have to face problems to attain the promotions that will place them in leadership roles. Many of the challenges that a woman face in the workplace are the same as those for a man. Both men and women have to face challenges like maintain the balance between work and life, parenting, juggling many responsibilities and multi tasking.


An organization can help women to promote through focused efforts in their recruitment processes, retention of employee and development programs. Setting up a special unit to help implement and measure female-friendly programs helps a company to achieve their goals, and ensures bias free environment.

These policies and programs are void without a company culture that value and respects women backing them. If women are aware then this is a first step towards success and this will help her to compete with her male co-workers. According to a report, women still earn only 73 percent of what men do for the same job and this is all because of sexual bias. Many consultants try to teach male leaders or managers to relinquish the command and control mode, but for women that comes naturally. Women naturally have patience, understanding and supportive nature and this is what a leader require to work properly.


Women have started entering the work places like never before from the sixties and seventies and this is a forward step to the development of women. Women have integrated themselves into every field of activity and every kind of industry skillfully and smoothly. The demand of women executives is much greater than the supply. Consumer expertise in a consumer-oriented economy places them in a desirable position where they are given precedence at Management Institutes as well as in recruitment for managerial position.

In reality, women managers are an integral part of any organization today. Both men and women are basically to be balanced for objective decision –making, management and each aspect to be used consciously and deliberately as and when required in the process of administration. Women in Management/Corporate are custodians of quality and which automatically makes qualities more meaningful.


Though women are aware and well educated but still they have to face many problems to prove her in an organization. Women still have challenges to promote her in a leadership role.
