Even a rubberband, if it is intelligently placed, can communicate a great message. This ambient work for encouraging more people to donate blood is an exampale. The direct marketing effort has been developed by Publimark, San José, for San Jose Blood bank .
In costa rica, selling and buying blood is prohibited, and only voluntary blood donations are encouraged. To encourage people to donate blood, the agency made a clever use of the rubberband that wraps the news paper. It was actually a clever way of reminding people to the need of donating blood.
