ABC is all smiling as each of the 48 ad spots scheduled for Oscar evening has been sold. A good 6 percent jump from last year the 30 second spots were sold at an average of $1.7 million. Though TV ratings won’t be as high as past couple of years, advertisers are bullish on their plans. Informs Natalie Finn from Eonline. ABC vice president Geri Wang says this is a status event and people/advertisers would love to be a part of the glamour and pomp.

So, even if the biggest event of Hollywood won’t gather as much eye balls as Super Ball does but you can not simply underestimate the power of female audience out there. No wonder, cosmetic biggie L’Oreal has bought eight spots for the event. I’m sure Beyonce Knowles, Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson all will be there.
