Television recording technology company TiVo is about to launch an on-demand advertising product that would offer content to customers via the ‘Now Playing’ section. This new search product from TiVo will apparently bring targeted advertising to TV. This will allow subscribers to easily search and watch television commercials.
TiVo ‘product watch’ will allow advertisers to reach out to TiVo subscribers through their ad and messages. More than 70 advertisers and 100 brands would be initially available from the service.
The commercials would be segmented into five categories. They are: Automotive, Financial, Entertainment, Lifestyles, and Travel and Leisure.
Viewers who are now sick of being a captive audience will now be able to select and search for advertising content (like Sony movie trailer with behind the scene footage) to be downloaded. They also can subscribe to a brand and receive video content continuously.
