The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. Should we need a special day to remember and thank to the endless sea of affection, love and heartfelt prayers? What about the rest of the days? Are you a thankless son and daughter for the rest of the 365 days?
Anyway, that was just a personal opinion and you all have your own opinions. I respect that. What I want to mention was just the business side of this mothers day and, sorry, I deviated a bit in the beginning. Flowers and greeting cards are selling like hot cakes. Oh, so what? Forgive me, I am such a pessimistic lazy observer who finds fault in everywhere.
The interesting thing is that the sale of flowers is being promoted through social networking sites. Online florists like Teleflora and 1-800-Flowers.com are tapping communities on Facebook and Twitter. Teleflora is using tweets and Facebook alerts to drive traffic to its Motherâs Day e-card site, which lets consumers send a free, âTalking Flowersâ electronic greeting.
Hallmark, the greeting card company, too, is using Facebook as a way to let consumers say âthank youâ to mom. The greeting card company launched a âMeet My Momâ tab on its Facebook page.
