This advertisement from coffee brand Lavazza recently received fierce criticism for its Swedish campaign. The Trade Ethical Council against Sexism in Advertising (ERK) has declared the advertisement to be discriminatory in nature. The advertisement is showing a woman lying on a bed drinking coffee, wearing an unbuttoned uniform.

However, this particular campaign has not landed in controversy in any other country so far. This widely perceived that Sweden’s Ethical Council has lower tolerance for the scantily clad woman if compared with advertisement regulatory bodies of other countries.

On the other hand, the company in question in its defense stated that that the image depicted glamour, style and a lust for life and the ad is by no means discriminatory.
