This print advertisement was published on the behalf of EUT Marketing, the distributor of Wonerbra in South East Asia. The peculiarity of the ad is it not only resembles with an advertisement for The Economist newspaper but it is completely a spoof of the advertisement meant for the newspaper. The original advertisement was published by the weekly newspaper The Economist in the year 2005.

Since late eighties, The Economist has adopted a practice of publishing an abrupt slogan using a plain red background. The original ad was created by David Abbott and his agency Abbott Vickers BBDO still continues to produce the campaign.

It is quite explicit now that how this ad now will help catching attention for the latest company’s product. The latest ad was created by DDB Singapore. Following is the original ad:
