Gun glamorization is not a new disease. The gun glorification has always been there in insensible movies and pulp fiction. (there are sensible movies and fiction, indeed). Advertising is also not new to this sickness. Remember how wanted triggered a controversy. Now here is an example of an ad which has been axed by ASA, owing to gun glorification.
ASA has banned an ad for clothing brand Fly53 that appeared in NME magazine. The ad featured a man holding a gun to the head of another in a darkened room. Following a complaint that the ad’s depiction of gun crime was offensive, irresponsible and unsuitable for display in a music magazine, ASA banned the ad.
