Playing with words and images is an interesting thing in advertising, both for the creative persons and the targeted audience. But, it should be performed with caution, lest it will misfire. When we are playing pun with words and visuals in an irresponsible way, there are chances for the birth of controversies that may seriously affect the health of brands. But this print ad for Golden toast handles it with immaculate attention and beauty.
The ad, developed by Grey G2/Group, carries an interesting headline and a befitting art work. The headline âTastes like already butteredâ plays with the double-meaning of the proverb: Generally it means that something tastes great and in this context with the butter toast it implies that the toast has already been buttered.
