A Queensbury based Gas Showroom in a bid to advertise them and to raise giggles with a poster ad featuring a woman, inadequately dressed with bare minimum clothes has been banned by the advertisement watchdog. The Advertising Standards Authority found it too offensive and sexually suggestive.
These posters were put on display in the five pubs around the city. The text of the ad read ‘Let the Gas Showroom stick something warm into your hearth-hole!’ followed by an almost scantily dressed woman. The matter came into focus when a mum had complained to the ASA. The authority while banning the ad had ruled that the picture is not explicit but it is sexually suggestive.
