Cadbury’s Bournville tests British humor in Indian soil

Cadbury, in its latest tvc too, is continuing with its ‘British outsourced humor’ for its dark Chocolate Bournville.

Banking on the previous tagline, You don’t just buy a Bournville; you earn it,(which clearly reflects the concept) the TVC features a butler, James, who does not appreciate the finer things in life. While imitating his employer, he bites into his Bournville; and as a result, a piano lands on his head.

Indeed, being a British company, we can expect humor with an English touch. The commercial has an international standard and fine humor. But, I am a bit apprehensive about the cultural adaptability of this humorous twist.

Let us wait to see whether people can really ‘enjoy’ the humor.
