British Council rolled out this comical print advertisement campaign to promote learning English language in Hungary. The campaign puts emphasis on the importance of English language in daily life as it helps people to achieve. The advertisements are also emphasizing that knowledge of English language is always rewarding and the entire campaign centers around this very concept. The advertisements have been constructed in the form of cartoon strips in order to make it easy-to-understand only through visuals. The campaign has used very little text in the advertisement but one still need to know English to understand the advertisement. The advertisements, using amusing approach, are showing comparison between those who know English and those who do not understand it at all.
The concept of marking a clear divide between people who understand this language and those who do not was of course a good idea but it surely needed better execution to be effective and presentable. Though the product benefit has been emphasized but it would only be understandable who already knows this language. The punch line of the campaign reads, ‘Learn English, it’s rewarding’. The campaign was created by Ogilvy & Mather, Budapest, Hungary.
