Drug commercials have always been a subject of debate because of their dubious credibility and their impact on the health of the people. In US legislators are trying to control these TV commercials for prescription drugs. They also target at the commercials for sexual aids like Viagra and Levitra on prime-time television.<\/p>\n

The drug commercials are usually arranged in a way that overstates benefits and understates risks of drugs. People never know what are the possible side effects those drugs.<\/p>

One of the main criticisms against these drug commercials are that they prompt people to diagnose themselves whenever they feel a symptom of an illness. Moreover, they lead people to pressure their doctors for prescriptions for expensive brand-name drugs.
\nHowever, banning these unhealthy commercials (indeed, not all commercials belong to this) would be difficult. In New Zealand, though some health officials and politicians tried to ban drug ads several years ago, the move failed.<\/p>\n
