Iowa Lottery<\/a> has recently launched this television commercial featuring the ‘Iowa Fight song’ and the tigerhawk logo. The advertisement has raised dome eyebrows on the ground that connections between collegiate sports and gambling are considered inappropriate. Deep concerns have been expressed for the Hawkeye-themed nature of the commercial as students are especially vulnerable to gambling addiction.<\/p>

Iowa Atheletics Director Gary Barta has said that the company did nothing wrong when it used the song and the logo since it was his office that had approved the use. However, he said that his opinion has recently changed.<\/p>\n

The advertisement is showing the fight song and the logo was aimed at promoting a drawing for a Hawkeye themed Dodge Caliber to be awarded during a Hawkeye men’s basketball game.<\/p>\n
