Nathan Weinberg of Inside Google <\/a>says some members of Amazon’s affiliate program are taking base to earn themselves some cash. <\/p>\n

After the porn debacle Google Base has changed its advertising program. It says<\/p>\n

\nAffiliates Posting is not permitted for the promotion of affiliate sites or products sold through an affiliate marketing relationship.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nClearly its meant for people (Read: Amazon affiliates) who should not get away with any undue advantage.<\/p>\n

Well, it didn’t take that long for Google Base to become the prime destination for spamming the unsuspecting public for the heck of it. Any commercially viable search right now generates a list of items with referral IDs of various affiliate programs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So people are not simply ‘easily’ taking up this service. Who expects innocence anyway? …and Googglers now have to come up with robust plan to prevent such stuff. <\/p>\n

To attack spam or pornography on Google Base this is what presently the company has to say <\/p>
