There are some easy to make hydrating facemasks which will nourish your skin in these harsh winter months.
Oatmeal, honey and yogurt hydrating face mask
Honey is a natural moisturiser and it has antibacterial properties. Yogurt is a good hydrating agent and oatmeal acts an exfoliating agent. It helps in making the skin smooth. Mix half cup of uncooked oatmeal with one cup of yogurt. To this, add one tablespoon of honey. Apply this mixture to a clean face. Leave it on the face for 20 minutes. Wash face with lukewarm water. You can apply this mask once daily in winter.
Papaya and strawberry face mask
This fruit facemask has papaya, which has enzyme papain, and vitamin A. Papaya is known to have a rejuvenating effect on the skin. The strawberry has plenty of vitamin C and helps in keeping the skin hydrated. Blend a few strawberries and a few pieces of ripe papaya in a blender. Apply it to the skin and wash face with lukewarm water after 20 minutes.
Almond oil and honey mixture for the skin
Almond oil nourishes the skin and moisturises it. Honey as mentioned earlier is very good for the skin. Just mix a few drops of good quality almond oil with a tablespoon of honey. Mix well and apply this mixture gently on the face. Leave it on the skin for 20 minutes. Remove it with the help of a mild natural cleanser.
Aloe vera and cucumber face mask
Aloe vera helps in moisturising the skin. Cucumber is high in water content and helps in keeping the skin hydrated. Simply blend cucumber and to it add fresh aloe vera gel. You may even choose to use cucumber juice. Apply this mixture to the skin for twenty minutes and wash with lukewarm water. You can follow this treatment once daily in winter. You can also simply apply fresh aloe vera gel twice daily in order to keep your skin moisturised.
Avocado and apricot face mask
Avocado makes the skin buttery soft. Apricots contain vitamins A and C. They also contain phytonutrients, which are good for the skin. Soak dried apricots in water and blend it to a smooth paste. To this, add ripe avocado pulp. Apply the mask to the skin. Wash it after 20 minutes with warm water.
Lemon, coconut oil and olive oil face mask
This facemask will help in rejuvenating and moisturising the skin. Lemon, which is a rich source of vitamin C, will freshen up your skin. Simply mix fresh lemon juice with a few drops of coconut oil and olive oil. Apply this mixture to the skin and wash the skin with lukewarm water after sometime. You can make use of other oils like almond oil in this mixture.
Banana and fresh cream
This is a good combination for pepping up dry skin. You can simply mash a ripe banana and apply it to the skin. For better results, you can mix fresh cream with the mashed banana, apply it to the skin, and then wash face with warm water after few minutes.
