What are the factors for holiday tourism growth?

Certain factors decide why tourists crave to visit a place. There must be some driving forces making tourists like one place more than another. Tourists choose a holiday destination giving equal importance to several aspects without which the trip may turn out to be a mere time pass. The tastes of tourists vary and the countries focusing on this have seen a robust growth in holiday tourism.

Heritage landmarks and historical monuments:

These have always fascinated tourists across the globe. Frankly speaking, previously holiday tourism was prevalent mainly in those countries housing historical monuments or heritage landmarks before other aspects gained importance. This is the reason that the “Seven Wonders of the World” used to be highlighted to draw tourists.  The Taj Mahal in India has been termed as the Frozen Melody by some art critique. The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty are few such heritage landmarks that continue to fascinate present generation tourists.

Natural flora and fauna:

The flora and fauna that enrich a nation is a major pull attracting millions of tourists every year. Camping by a forest creek or stalking a pride of lions on safari cars for that matter has no parallels so far as thrill packed adventures are concerned. However, wildlife sighting may not be exactly a merry picnic affair as hazards are also involved. Similarly, arrangement for special river cruises traversing amidst the thick natural vegetation along with occasional wild life sighting is another key driver for the growth of holiday tourism.

Culinary aspects:

The culinary scenario of a nation triggers considerable interest among the visiting tourists who consider their trip incomplete without tasting the local culinary delicacies. Thai food has taken global fancy like a storm and the heavenly mix of herbs, sea food, poultry and condiments that form the basics of Thai cuisine conjures up a treat which no words will be able to describe. Drawing parallels, Indian cuisine also has its own charm. Whether it is a humble meal or hot spicy dish, Indian cuisine plays an integral role in the growth of holiday tourism in India. On a similar ground, the Japanese Sushi, a mix of rice and raw sea food laced with exotic herbs and sea weeds draw a huge crowd with an adventurous bent of mind.

Drinks:

When tourists look for exotic dishes, they also appreciate the quality of drinks available in a particular holiday destination. In fact, the quality of wine production that a nation can offer may well become a key driving factor promoting holiday tourism in that country. Cultivation of grape vine and special maintenance of the vine yards, and finally the subtle tricks and technicalities adopted to impart a special taste to the wine makes a big difference in producing quality wines that go a long way enhancing the growth of tourism. Often, the character of a nation is reflected with the type of wine that is being served on the table. There are etiquettes and finer behavioral customs that go with drinking. Quality wine producing countries like France, Italy, Spain, Australia and the US have taken this activity to a level of art.
