Kakadu National Park

Kakadu national park is located around 240km east of Darwin, Australia. It is the largest terrestrial park of the country. This national park covers an area of 20,000 sq-km and is home to enormous ecological and biological diversity. The park houses variety of rare plants, birds, and animals.

The national park provides visitors with stunning natural landscapes in a variety of styles. It has magnificent waterfalls, beautiful wetlands, and pristine habitats that make it a haven for wildlife. You could also take a walk down time and see cave paintings and rock art that that date back to thousands of years. The Kakadu national park is considered as a living culture landscape.

Incredible natural beauty and ancient cultural heritage of Kakadu national park has found it a place on the World Heritage list. The national park is located in the tropics between 12degree and 14degree south of the Equator. Unlike the classical tropical climate, the region has more of a monsoonal climate. Kakadu experiences a dry season, and a wet season brought on by monsoonal troughs created over Southeast Asia.

Kakadu national park offers various educational tours for students. It also offers junior ranger program, which provides opportunities for students to learn about local Bininj culture and the management of the park. Visitors can explore birds and animals like hooded parrots, white-browed robins, Australian darter, finches, kangaroos, black wallaroos, and crocodiles.
