Do’s and Don’ts to remember when visiting Disney World

Disney World is a premium destination for families with kids. The “happiest place on earth” can, however, become the most stressful place on the planet is you don’t follow some basic do’s and don’ts.

Do’s:

1. Pack travel-sized essentials

You can buy sunscreens, band-aids etc. in Disney World. But the shops inside the park do spike prices. Carry all essential is travel sizes and you would be able to keep costs down.

2. Have a plan in place

Have every member of the party pick their favorite rides and activities before visiting the park. This would help you chalk out a plan for walking through the park. Also, give every member of the party a copy of the plan and tell them to just meet at the next planned ride or spot should they get away from the party.

3. Make reservations for evening meals

Finding a table in a restaurant in the evening could be hard. Book tables in advance and you won’t have to suffer having your kids throw hungry tantrums in front of hundreds of strangers.

4. Watch shows at Disney World

Watching shows at Disney World is a great way to get some rest between rides and walking through the park.

Don’ts:

1. Don’t skip snacks and meals

At Disney World, skipping a meal could leave you with low blood sugar and no energy to enjoy the rides halfway through the day.

2. Don’t be fooled by the weather

Florida tends to get rather cold in the evenings. After sunset, the temperature drops very quickly so you should have a light jacket for every person in your party and small blankets for young kids.

3. Don’t forget to pack appropriate footwear

For every person in your party, you would need a pair of walking shoes and a pair of flip flops for the water rides.

4. Don’t go overboard with snacking

Disney World has a huge selection of sweets and snacks vended out between rides. These sure are tempting but you should account for how well these would sit in your stomach on the rides that you want to take on after them.

5. Don’t get a room with a view

Paying for a room with a view at Disney World is a folly. You’re there for the surrounding parks and rides and you’d be out of your room the whole day and a better part of the evening anyway.
