LG G Watch: Review
Grow with Dr Prem

After being unveiled earlier this year, Google’s Android Wear-based LG G Watch has finally been revealed by the company. LG and Google have put this new smartwatch on sale worldwide. Although this smartwatch received a great response from buyers on preorders, it is yet to be assessed how it is actually received by users after the launch.

Appearance

LG G Watch is a simple-looking smartwatch that is one of the first Android Wear devices by Google. It has a plain design like a black-colored box having a regular display. This has been attached to a cheap-looking rubbery band. You may say that its design actually does not appeal, as there is nothing innovative to be appealing. It is not at all like those stylish and fashionable smartwatches that you may flaunt. This gadget has a 1.65-inch IPS LCD display that is okay for regular use inside the house. Weighing at 63 grams, LG G Watch has dimensions of 37.9×46.5×9.95 mm. You can get this device in White Gold and Black Titan colors.

Performance

The evaluation of its relative performance is difficult as of now and there are not many positives to discuss. This watch runs on a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. It has 512 MB RAM and 4 GB built-in storage. You receive Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity on this device. The gadget runs on a 400mAh battery and has a 9-axis sensor. Thus, it offers satisfactory results on the performance front that can also be gained through any other regular smartwatch.

Usefulness

LG G Watch is like a regular accessory without any style. Its display will also disappoint you when you go out in sunlight and try to read on it. It is not at all useful for those who go out for fresh air while wearing their smartwatch. However, the touch response by the device is fine. Additionally, it is dust- and water-resistant. Thus, it can be easily handled during the usage.

Support services

This smartwatch comes preloaded with the Android Wear companion app so it can be managed using an Android phone. Users will also receive Android Wear support through a dedicated app section on Google Play Store.

Quality

LG G Watch is more of a beta-like product for the exploration of developers. It displays the start of such devices by the company, but shows that a lot needs to be done before actually arriving at a great product. As there is not too much that is praiseworthy about this smartwatch, we can say that it is a regular quality watch.
