Enrique Gomez, who is an assistant professor at Penn State University and currently researching on flexible electronics, believes that this technological innovation will completely change the way we build tech devices and perceive them.

The origination of this surprisingly new technology can be traced back to the 1940s. It was probably Dr. Ken Gileo who first thought about the flexible circuits. Thomas Edison had also thought and sketched some plans for making flexible circuits with the help of graphite powder and cellulose gum. In the 1950s the Sanders Associates’ Royden sanders and Victor Dahlgren enthusiastically tried to patent a technique of printing flat conductors on flexible surfaces.

  • The possibilities of this technological development are immense.
