Finally, Samsung is out with its new smartphone. Samsung Galaxy R is a much talked about smartphone. Many people have read reviews about this phone, but no one has actually seen it. This is a mysterious phone from Samsung. This touch screen skinny phone will come out with dual cameras. It has great features that make it different from other smart phones available in the market.

What is it?

This mysterious phone is the latest offering from the Samsung. It is already available in Sweden as Samsung Galaxy Z. But, the good news is that now it is all around to hit the markets of Asia and other parts of the world. This phone has very clear LCD. It is a touch screen phone with a 1GHz Tegra 2 CPU. This Android phone has two cameras on both sides. One is 5MP while the other is 2MP. Some people may consider it as a low cost version of Samsung Galaxy S2.

This phone has a number of features. These are as follows-

What’s innovative?

Accessories:

The kit includes a handset, USB cable, battery and charger. The whole set has a weight of 132 g. If you are not satisfied with these accessories, you may go for some other accessories too. But for all these additional accessories, you have to pay more.

The up side:

The sleek look of this phone is very attractive. It has almost all the features that you would like to have in any smartphone. It is well placed in the market. The dual camera with LED flash is also good. The latest version of Android OS, makes it an excellent choice. This phone is famous for its HD recording and playback.

The down side:

This phone has little bit higher price. You can go for Samsung Galaxy S2 in just few more dollars. The camera of 5MP is also not sufficient for any smartphone in this price range. Even the battery backup is not good. Samsung do not have good batteries. If you are looking for a phone with a good backup, this is not a right choice.

Our experience:

This may look a nice phone with all the new and innovative features, but the reality is that it is just a tiny version of S2. It has almost same features. Though, some features of S2 are missing. The price is almost same as that of S2. At such a price, we would recommend you to go for Samsung Galaxy S2. At least, that has a good camera of 8MP. Even the internal memory of S2 is much more than the Galaxy R.

The bottomline:

Samsung has launched an excellent smartphone with a number of features. It has dual camera with LED flash. The screen display quality is also very good. Samsung has tried to please the lower end users who want to have smartphone, but cannot spend much to get Galaxy S2. This phone has almost all the features that S2 has, but with little bit differences. For instance, the camera is just 5MP as compared to 8MP camera of S2. But, this smartphone has not been priced well. Samsung has done a blunder here. It should be priced much below than the Galaxy S2. Most of the prospects were expecting this smartphone to be available at around INR 20000 or $400. If Samsung could have priced it well, it would be sold like hot cakes. But at such a high price, everyone would prefer S2.
