BlackBerry has recently launched its new smartphone called Porsche Design P’9983. This ultra-premium device is a result of the collaboration between BlackBerry and Porsche Design.

Appearance

BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9983 comes in a nice and sleek body, as well as with a superrich look. However, you will still find this BlackBerry device in a 3.1-inch display that has a resolution of 720×720 pixels. On the other hand, this phone has an attractive feature in the form of its high-gloss, glass-like keyboard.

Its keys are made of composite plastic and you will notice that lettering has a 3D effect. The device is given a stainless steel frame that increases its weight somewhat, but gives it a pleasing look. You will also find a few nice software tweaks in this gadget. Some of these include a blue circle to mark a frequently used feature, shortcut for composing emails, within-camera shutter icon, system font, loading screen, etc.

Performance

Porsche Design P’9983 runs on a dual-core, 1.5 GHz, Qualcomm MSM8960 processor. The device has 2 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. While the processor of this phone does not offer anything fresh from the times of old Q10 phones, there is a slight improvement on the internal storage front. It accepts 128 GB microSD cards. The phone is installed with a 2,100mAh battery to offer decent performance. The device runs on BlackBerry 10.3 OS.

Ease of use

The size of this smartphone may disappoint you, as it may be difficult to carry or handle. The phone may slip out of your hands very easily. On the other hand, the design of its keyboard makes it easier to run your fingers on it. Its big keys make it comfortable to type for long. Porsche Design P’9983 has a cool back camera of 8 MP with a lens that is a coated with sapphire crystal. The camera works fine in daylight but might give some problems with nighttime shooting due to image sharpness issues.

Usefulness

Porsche Design P’9983 can be termed more as a fashion statement that reflects your status in the society. Otherwise, the device does not offer you any extraordinary features that are not available in other smartphones or old BlackBerry devices. The phone is useful in a general sense, but one would only carry it to announce to the world that they are superrich.

Value for money

At a price of $2,000, Porsche Design P’9983 is only worth buying if you need to reflect your social status. Otherwise, you can even go for a Q10 that has started coming for free with some contracts.
