In a recent development, Apple obtained the much awaited US patent which will allow the company to include projection and the highly advanced gesture control features in their devices like Apple iPhones or Apple iPads. This will bring a new change in all the future devices of Apple. Thanks to the patent, other rival companies won’t be able to include the same features in their devices.

The patent, which was actually submitted way back in February 2010 and finally awarded on 16th July of 2013 will allow the Apple users to take advantage of the projection technology by simply using their Apple iPhones or iPads. With this technology, you can see the necessary information by simply pointing your Apple device on a wall or any blank screen. You can project any spreadsheet or graphical application, pictures or even a feature film and see it in an enlarged size on the screen. Moreover, due to the inclusion of the gesture control features, you can control and also interact with the projected contents by simply moving your hand over the device.

On the other hand, another advantage of this patent application is that it will allow the users to easily share their contents with other devices like their notebooks, tablets or even with their phones. Moreover, in case of gesture control features, this technology will have the capacity to recognize different types of control systems and most of them will be quite familiar with the existing control systems of iPhones or iPads.

According to Apple’s report on the patent filing, the existing screens of Smartphones are smaller in size, which provides difficulties in sharing, and reading the contents on the screen. However, with the help of the projector facility, the task of watching contents, copying or even transferring files will become fairly simple and convenient.

Although the concept of a Smartphone with an in-built projector is not a new phenomenon considering the launch of Samsung Galaxy Beam Smartphone last year which included a 15-lumen projector in the device. Also, with the recent launch of SmartQ U7 tablet from Smart Devices in the US which has a built-in projector, the devices from Apple might have to face some competition in the market but because of the good brand reputation of Apple among its users its devices will woo the customers in no time. Moreover, on the plus side Apple’s devices will have the advantage of supporting gesture recognition control which will be a totally new concept in the world of Smartphones and Tablets.
