Good health essentially comes with good and correct diet and eating habits. The seasonal changes have a great impact on people’s health and hence every diet chart should be planned according to the availability of food items in different seasons. Usually, in the fall season, like in the month of October, more warming foods such as sweet potato, garlic, carrot, onions and spices including mustard seeds, peppercorns and ginger should be consumed. October recipes are not only tempting but these dishes have high nutritive value as well. Some really good recipes for the month of October are listed below.

1. Cheese and Broccoli Rice

Initially, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a square casserole and keep aside. Melt a small amount of butter in a large skillet, and then add onion and celery to it. Fry the mixture till the onions get translucent. After that, add the ingredients including broccoli, uncooked Minute Rice and one can cream of mushroom soup along with cheese and then stir. The pour the whole mixture into the greased casserole. The dish is ready when it’s baked in the oven for 40 minutes

2. Quick and Easy Halloween Chili

At first, heat 3 tbsp of olive oil in a skillet and then add 11/2 cups of chopped onions and 8 large chopped garlic cloves to it. Fry the mixture properly until the onions turn translucent. After that, add taco seasoning, beans, peppers and spices to the fried mixture and once again fry it more deeply. After having fried the whole thing, add tomato paste, vegetable broth and tomato sauce. Cook the chilly mixture for at least 45 minutes and then serve it hot with tortilla chips and grated cheese.

3. Indian Coconut Shrimps

To start with, heat the vegetable oil in a skillet. Then add onion and shredded coconut to the heated oil and fry it for a few minutes till the onions get translucent. Then add a mixture of pepper, salt and turmeric to it and mix them up well. Finally, add the prawns and cook the whole thing on low heat for around 15 minutes. The dish is ready to be served.

4. Roasted and Spicy Pumpkin Seeds

First, preheat the oven to 350 F. Simultaneously, take the pumpkin seeds in a bowl and add spices like pepper and garlic powder to it and mix them well. Then bake this mixture on a baking tray for about 15 minutes until the seeds turn crispy and a little golden brown. Once the heating is done, let it get cooled and then serve it. It will make a delicious snack.

5. Healthy Chicken Salad Wrap

At first, take the ingredients including cheese, yogurt, celery, mayonnaise and bell peppers along with two cooked chicken breasts in a big bowl and mix them properly. Then add the correct amount of salt and pepper to the mixture. The chicken filling is ready. Now, take two to three medium tortillas and warm them. Then place a small quantity of the chicken filling already made on the top of the tortilla and wrap the filling. Chicken salad wrap is ready to be served.

6. Halloween Punch

Take a considerable quantity of condensed milk and pineapple juice in a plastic pumpkin and stir properly. Then add chilled orange soda and again stir the mixture well. The Halloween treat is now absolutely ready to be served in glasses.

7. Roasted Pear With Nuts

Initially, preheat the oven to 400oF. Then take a baking pan and place 4 tbsp of butter on it. Now, put the pan inside the oven. As the butter melts, sprinkle some brown sugar over it. After that, add four pears cut into halves on top of the mixture. Bake this whole thing for around 30 minutes and when the pear halves become softer, baste them with caramel sauce. Bake it again for another 10 minutes and the dish is perfectly ready.

8. Mac n’ Sausage

Take a casserole, grease it and keep it aside. Then preheat the oven to 350oF. After that, unpack the pasta and cook it as per the package instructions. Having cooked the pasta, take small pieces of sausages in a skillet and cook them properly till they turn brown. In a saucepan, mix Velveeta cheese, mustard and milk and cook it on low heat until the mixture becomes smooth.

Then add the sausage pieces, onions, tomatoes, pepper and mushrooms to the mixture and combine them well. Once this is done, add the cooked pasta to this mixture and stir well. Put the whole stuff into the greased casserole and cover it with foil. Bake it in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Serve the dish immediately after it is prepared.
