A poor boy that was in his twenties was looking for a job. He had old parents to look after and had only basic education. His parents wanted him to have a reputed job so that he could lead a good life but the boy had accepted the harsh realities of life. He knew that he was not qualified to get a reputed job. It was difficult to make two ends meet as there was not even a single earning hand in the family and the money they have borrowed from their relatives was running out. One day a relative came to their house and told the boy about the vacant post of a security guard in a bank. The boy took the address of the bank and made up his mind to go there though it made his parents sad as they had big dreams for their son. When he reached the office, the manger asked him to wait.
After two hours when the boy had started feeling sleepy, the manager called him inside and asked him a few questions. The boy answered the questions but could not get the job. The manager told him that it was a reputed bank and he was not smart enough to get a job. He said that the boy should start selling vegetables instead. The boy came out of the office and started cursing his fate. He did not know what to tell his parents who were waiting eagerly to get something to eat.
The boy went to his friend’s house to borrow some money.
His friends said that it was the last time he was helping him, as he had not returned the money he had taken earlier. The boy took the money, bought some vegetables and started selling those vegetable door to door. By the end of the evening he had made some money to buy some food items to take back home. The next day, he again bought some vegetables with the money that has had saved and sold them door to door.
He did not have an idea that the bank manger was making fun of him. He thought that he had actually given him a terrific idea to make his living.
Time went by. The boy got popular among his customers. He was well mannered and was always nice to all something that got him a lot many more customers. A kindhearted customer once told him that he could help him start his own business and even agreed to lend him a good amount of money. A few years later, the boy had a big business empire. He made a lot of money and was always ready to help others. His parents were happy as the hard work of their son had finally paid off, they got him married to a beautiful girl and the family started living happily. People use to get inspired from his story and his interviews got published in reputed magazines. He was an inspiration to all those who could not get educated due to the lack of resources but wanted to start their own business.
When people used to ask him about his inspiration, he would say that a bank manager who interviewed him for the post of security guard inspired him. He was still not aware that the bank manager had made fun of him.
Life is like that, sometimes it does not matter what you have planned for your life since universe has some other plans for you. Have faith in your destiny and put in your best efforts as universe always has a better plan for all of us.
