  • Acknowledge your addiction – The very first step to get rid of this addiction is to accept that you have it. Some people refuse to admit that it is a habit with them. They think they can stop themselves from eating fast food if they really want to. Truth is, they can’t and they haven’t tried to stop themselves from doing it as well. Assess your eating habits , ask yourself how often you indulge in tasty, greasy fast food. Is it every day, even if it is once per day or is it several times a week?   • Ask yourself why – After you have accepted that you do have an addiction to fast food, ask yourself why you are craving for that particular unhealthy food. Is it a sauce they put on the noodles or the extra cheese in the burger ? Ask yourself if you are treating fast food as comfort food and if there is another psychological reason for doing it. Perhaps stress at the workplace or a break up ?
  • Face reality – Make some mental calculations on how much you are spending as well how many calories those foods contain. Chances are, you might be shocked at what you find. Ask yourself if it is really worth it, what you are putting your body through for all that junk. Look for healthier alternatives, like a pack of nuts instead of chips.
  • AVOID – Stay away from fast food joints. If you love the ingredients which they put in the junk food, opt for those ingredients one at a time in the food you prepare yourself at home. This way, you can control what you put on your plate and you also do not deprive yourself completely. This avoids you binging on junk food later on.
