Fake smiles are common among all, at present. People get involved with another person making some animated conversation and wearing a plastic fake smile to develop a relationship. It might be a business relationship or a personal one. In recent times, if you see any person with sudden outburst of laughter or becoming emotional and cry, you term them as ‘being dramatic’. This is because all the fake smiles and fake tears have roughened the aspect of being emotional and deal with utmost inner feelings for someone you care. Human emotions are stiff now that every one finds it hard to feel sorry for someone whom you see on the road on your way to office or home. All one do is to fake tears to make others believe that you care for them.

The progressive world is making one to forget their real character and also tunes them to overlook the state of being gentle or kind to one another. In today’s world, every one wants to overcome their happiness or sadness and hence sporting a fake smile or tears is helpful to you. This leads to lack of interaction with physical world and leads to hatred with everything around them.

Hardening of feelings

Gone are the days when one smiled in a heartfelt way or felt the pain of the other as one’s own. With many opting to harden their feelings over their important issues, fake smiles and fake tears have become handy. It is much more asymmetrical while compared to a sincere and genuine smile or a tear drop of yours. Many use a fake smile to cover up their negative emotions and the uneasy or constrained feeling that you have beneath your smile or tears.

The role of fake smiles and tears

Fake smiles are becoming a necessity nowadays while dealing with valuable customers, your boss or with close relatives as showing your emotions and venting your feelings might not be a good idea. Nowadays many shed fake tears to show their emotion in a really sad occasion. This shows that everyone is turning seasoned actors. This is similar to the mannerism of flight attendants who give a fake hello or good bye to make the travellers happy. This forced smile of politeness and hospitality is termed as the Pan American Smile in the encyclopaedia.

Effect of fake emotions on one’s health

A research on emotional labour states that the energy spent on making nice faking emotions leads to job stress, dissatisfaction and burn out. It also states that inhibition of emotion or bottling your emotions overworks the cardio vascular and nervous systems and also weakens the immune system. It also leads to strongest predictors of Cancer.

The only difference between other species of life and human is that we can talk, smile, laugh or cry according to the situations which other species cannot. But even during a painful event or a sad event, people are not able to react with a heartfelt sorrow. In olden days actors and politicians were the ones emoting a fake smile or fake tears but nowadays all are following suit.

All the fake emotions lead one to have unwanted hatred between a relationship, between siblings, among neighbors or among society. This is the major cause for outbreak of war between countries, terrorism or quarrels.

So after considering all these aspects, it is necessary to feel each emotion as feelings are part of your personality. To feel something is way to be alive. So, to overcome a problem, first you should acknowledge how you feel and admit if you are not feeling good. To learn to embrace your feelings you must:
