Rutter’s Farm Stores is on its way to build its biggest and most eco-friendly store in Stewartstown, York. The 5,750-square-foot store will be one-of-a-kind with of 19 skylights cutting down the artificial lighting requirements. It will also incorporate a white roof, which will both reduce energy consumption and keep the building cooler.
The new store at 14 W. Pennsylvania Ave. will include features like energy-saving triple-glazed windows and all-LED exterior lights. It will also offer facilities like an all-glass, two-bay automatic car wash, 20 fueling spots in front and 2 dedicated diesel locations in the back. There is also place for food service offerings, where recently introduced dinner menu and kids meals will be available. A premium-coffee island, touchscreen ordering, seating for 15, public restrooms and a surcharge-free M&T Bank ATM are among the other amenities.
The store will be constructed incorporating Rutter’s award-winning design, including open ceilings, floor and wall tiles, and restrooms with floating ceilings, music and other upscale accents. The green store that is expected to open in December will also provide job opportunities for 40 people.
