Facelifts Are Getting A Bad In The Healthy Living Community

Exercise

It seems as if the American public is finally starting to fight back against a whole host of unhealthy habits that have been plaguing the country for the last few decades. Obesity and childhood obesity rates are both finally starting to go down after years of steadily climbing. There are a number of reasons why this seems to be happening, but the most likely explanation is people are simply starting to embrace a healthy lifestyle again. Working out, eating right, and sculpting bodies have become a past time that is popular and trendy and we as human beings tend to go with the flow.

If there is one piece of healthy living that is still getting a bad rap, it’s cosmetic surgery in general and facelifts in particular. Over the last couple of decades, cosmetic surgery has gone from the ‘it’ thing to something that is almost uniformly looked down upon. People are now starting to think that anyone who has some “work done” must have something wrong with them mentally.

People are under the rather false impression that having plastic surgery is something that is bad because it’s a quicker solution to a problem. The fact of the matter is there are plenty of people who go in for something like facelift surgery and still live perfectly normal and happy lives.

The Gym vs Plastic Surgery

Working out is certainly one way to feel better about yourself. You can feel as though you are in better shape and not as winded just going up and down the stairs. You can also actually see your mid-section shrink and your legs and arms take on more toning. All of this involves plenty of hard work, but if you work at it you will be able to notice the changes in a fairly short period of time.

Getting cosmetic surgery on your face is really not that much different than hitting the gym. You can work out all day every day, but if you’re feeling like you are looking tired and haggard or the bags under your eyes are standing out a bit too much, all the free weights in the world are not going to fix it.

Plastic Surgery vs Botox

There are certain “quick fixes” out there that people really should stay away from, especially if they aren’t 100 percent sure it’s what they want. Botox is one such fix, at least for a short time. Botox injections actually involve a toxin into your body and in return, the muscles in the injection area (usually your face) to tighten, removing wrinkles and lines. One downside is the botox will eventually wear off. Another negative is that because you are basically injecting poison into your body, there are some rather large risks, especially if you aren’t under the right kind of supervision.

Plastic surgery may not be something that will literally last forever but it certainly has a longer shelf life. Do a little research and you will be able to find a doctor that is well trained and very skilled in these kinds of procedures. This makes the risk minimal and should it be something that interests you will help you feel like a healthier, happier younger you.
